This was a bug that has been corrected in the recent. I assume this is a setting I need to change/add I am using version 21.01 which I believe is the latest version. For instance, you'll need a little over 5 seconds of space if you want to increase the Duration of an object by 5 seconds. Both options input the extended frame but the dialog box asking me to set the duration is not popping up. You can still use the Duration feature if there is enough space to the right of the selected object. To get past the Duration issue, press the key on your keyboard and manually extend the playtime for the object on the Timeline (instead of using Duration feature).
